King City paid $290,000 to settle a civil rights lawsuit after it’s police officer Tased a young man who posed no threat, then had him falsely charged with resisting arrest. After those charges were dismissed, Haddad & Sherwin filed civil rights claims against the officer. The lawsuit exposed the officer’s history of misconduct, and the King City Police Department’s improper hiring procedures. King City agreed to settle those civil rights claims to avoid a trial.
