Secured compensation for the son of an electrical lineman killed in a workplace accident, from settlement of a complex, multiple party, product liability case. The lineman was working in an aerial lift to upgrade a utility pole, when a wire became entangled in the lift controls, making the bucket of the lift move. Because the manufacturer had failed to provide an emergency stop button, the movement of the aerial lift bucket could not be stopped, and the lineman was thrown into high voltage wires, causing his wrongful death. Haddad & Sherwin proved that the arial lift company had long provided necessary emergency stop buttons for their trucks sold in Canada. In the course of this lawsuit, the manufacturer began installing emergency stop buttons in all of their truck mounted aerial lifts sold in the United States.
